Coventry & Volgograd Doves of Peace actions & activities

Watching Peace over Europe and the world

Dove of Peace in Volgograd is on the top of Planetarium, which is the present of people of German Democratic Republic to people of Volgograd. It stands on The Peace Street, Mira street as it called in Russian. This street was the first one to rebuilt in the city after the Stalingrad Battle was over. It is one of the favorite places for people and guests of the city to walk along. It was reconstructed by people of lots of nationalities and symbolizes the main desire of all citizens of Volgograd: PEACE.

The Dove of Coventry is the work of art of a young designer from Coventry and overlooks the city from The Trinity Church spire from 2001.

The two doves of the two cities on different borders of Europe, as well as people of these cities, damaged by war , fought against war and hate together by creating the first twin town bonds during WWII, risen from the rubbles and destructions, are keeping the bond of friendship through all the post war years and inspiring other places, small and big, to twin and cooperate for Peace, Creativity and Prosperity. Let there always be PEACE in the memory of those why died in wars. Amen
